Teamwork makes the Dream Work
It has been a S-L-O-W process moving
ahead for our new administrative space at Northtown Mall.
We were delayed with getting approvals through the Met Council and gaining our
individual permits. The good news is that FINALLY, almost
all permits are received, and we should able to start construction soon!
Last Saturday, we needed to move all
our supplies out of our two rented storage units. One thing for sure
is…we have a lot of stuff! Dog supplies, food, crates, holiday
and event supplies, supplies for transports. We thought we were
in for a long day of moving.
We must have forgotten the amazing
power of Good Karma! On a snowy, slushy Saturday morning,
truck after truck after SUV showed up full of wonderful committed volunteers.
They worked hard and they worked FAST!
We were done in 2 ½ hours!!!
The dedication of this group amazes us
every single day. We are sooo impressed with the
commitment of our Army to give up their Saturday mornings to do a job that
wasn’t fun, didn’t involve furry doggies…and they did it all with smiles on
their faces. Many of us have worked with other
non-profit organizations prior to GK, and we all agree. There’s something
special here. The unwavering commitment, sense of responsibility, and sense of
pride among our team is truly something amazing to be a part of. Good Karma
Nation (our private Facebook group for GK volunteers) is a hands-on group of
selfless people who are willing to do whatever is needed to support our rescue.
From fostering a dog, transporting, conducting home visits, giving advice and
support, showing up on moving day, and just jumping in to help in any way they
can - we thank our GK Army.
