Welcome to 2018 and our new blog!

Do you believe in Good Karma?  Well we believe in Good Karma and we are so excited for 2018!

Welcome to our new blog.  This will be a place that we will share with you what happens in rescue.  From our various successes to our trials... we want you to know the reality of rescue.  We hope you enjoy following us along!  If you want to learn more about Good Karma, check out our new updated website at http://www.goodkarmamn.org/

Rescue!  Did you know we are passionate about rescue?  We want to save them all.  However, we also know we want to do it right so our concentration is more on quality than quantity.  All of our dogs are in foster homes.  We do not board them or house them anywhere else.  They are all in loving homes where they can get personal attention.  We also limit the number of dogs per foster home so we can ensure that they get the best care and support possible to make them into great pets.  That said, we are always looking for more foster homes so we can save more.  If you are interested in fostering, check out more information at http://www.goodkarmamn.org/foster.html

2018 is a new year with multiple changes!  On Sunday January 14th we had our annual launch party to celebrate the past year and look ahead to the next.

One exciting thing we unveiled is our new logo!  We love it and feel it represents us well.

We celebrated all the volunteers and gave special recognition to a few people.  We are so thankful for all our volunteers and foster families.

The recipients of our special Awards of Appreciation of 2017 are Dawn, Jennie, Willie and Jeff and Jeni:

Our Volunteer of the Year award went to Greta:

We also wanted to give you a sneak peek at some additional exciting news!  Until this time, we have been working out of bins in our homes and two public storage units.  Through some wonderful turns of events in December, we were offered an amazing space at Northtown Mall in Blaine, MN.  Through their generosity and the amazing generosity of some wonderful contractors, we will soon have an administrative office space at Northtown Mall.  We are so excited that we will have a small office, conference room, large space for multiple use including meet and greets and trainings, an amazing storage area and a doggie spa sponsored by Bubbly Paws!  We want to give a shout out to our wonderful partner vet clinic, Douglas Animal Hospital, for helping to sponsor the flooring too.  We are so amazed at how it came all together because of wonderful people that believe in us. This will not be open for the public (except stay tuned for a future open house) and no dogs will be housed here.  All dogs will still only live in loving foster homes. Stay tuned as this space becomes a reality.

Until next time!

I always wondered why somebody doesn't do something about that. Then I realized I was SOMEBODY.   -Lily Tomlin
