Happy Birthday Good Karma! 5 Years of Dog Rescue

Today is an exciting day for Good Karma.  It’s our Birthday!  It is 5 years since we started doing what we do and saved some dogs.  Over 900 dogs saved to date for this small but mighty rescue.

So much has changed since that first intake.  We have grown, changed some of our procedures for the better, and now are working on having our own "space" for the rescue.  When others have needed help, we have traveled to Louisiana and Texas to lend a hand.  Everything we do, we do because it will make things better for the dogs.

This week we celebrated by bringing in 8 more dogs.  8 more dogs saved from a high kill shelter in Texas.  Half of them are Heartworm +.  That means a lot more time and costs we need to commit to helping them get better.  Each Heartworm + dog spends a minimum 3 months in rescue and the medical treatment is over $1000.  The adoption fee for these dogs are easily less than half of what we pay to get them healthy.  But for us, it isn’t about the money.  It is about saving them and giving them the chance to live the rest of their lives with loving families.

We think the other 4 are pretty special also!
